NBA Global Games is Coming to London in January 2014 June 25, 2013 15:26

The NBA has announced that they are expanding their Global Games schedule in 2013-14, to include regular-season games hosted in London and Mexico City.

The Minnesota Timberwolves will be taking on the San Antonio Spurs in Mexico City on the 4th December 2013, while the Brooklyn Nets and the Atlanta Hawks will be playing at the London O2 Arena on the 16th January 2014.

We're obviously most excited about the Nets and Hawks heading our way. That game will mark the 12th time an NBA match-up has been played in London going back to 1993. The Hawks were one of the first teams to feature in the UK, when they played the Orlando Magic.

The Brooklyn Nets will be making their third appearance in London, having previously been to London in 2008 and 2011, albeit as the New Jersey Nets.

These games are part of the bigger NBA Global Games schedule, that will see 12 NBA teams, playing 10 regular season games in 8 cities, across 6 countries over the next season. This will be the most NBA teams to play internationally during the regular season ever, in the history of the NBA.
