Phil Jackson Says Michael Jordan is Better than Kobe May 18, 2013 10:32

If you're going to have a discussion about who is better, Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant, then you can't really get more qualified than Phil Jackson.

Jackson coached the Chicago Bulls from 1989 to 1998, when they won 6 NBA titles, and Michael Jordan was making a name for himself as the best NBA basketball player ever.

After leaving the Bulls, Jackson's next big coaching gig was with the LA Lakers, where he coached the likes of Kobe Bryant from 2000, until his retirement in 2010. He won another 5 NBA Championships with the Lakers, giving him 11 Championship rings in total as a coach.

Phil Jackson is amidst a book tour right now, and as part of that he went on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Thursday night.  During the interview, Jackson puts forward his views on Jordan and Kobe, saying that Jordan was the better player.

After that, he also discusses the Lakers coaching job, and how Mike D'Antoni was hired for this disastrous season for the Lakers, even though he had been asked to consider coming back.
