Steph Curry Drops 44 Points as Warriors Lose to San Antonio May 07, 2013 20:28

The Golden State Warriors might have lost the first game of their playoff series against the San Antonio Spurs last night, but that didn't stop Steph Curry from going off for 44 points to try to push his team to the W.

Curry was 18 of 35 from the field, and 6 of 14 from beyond the arc. To go with his 44 points, 22 of which came in the 3rd quarter alone, he also had 11 assists.

Things were looking pretty good for Golden State when the Spur's Manu Ginobili threw up a bad 3 point shot in the dying minutes of the game, and looked like he'd given the game away to the Warriors.

Manu would have his revenge though, as he knocked down a 3-pointer, with just 1.2 seconds on the clock, to give the Spurs a 2 point lead in the double overtime game.

The Spurs would win 129 - 127 on that play.

Curry said of the game; "We had a heartbreaker in Game 1 of the last series (against Denver), a last-second layup by Andre Miller. So we've been here before. But we know how to come back. We've been a resilient team all year. To have an opportunity to go 1-1, we still have a chance to do that."

The Warriors will take to the court in San Antonio again tomorrow night to see if they can do just that.
