The Nets have had a pretty good season in terms of the level of attention that has been brought to the team, and the level of interest that has been brought to the New York borough of Brooklyn.
Now the NBA has announced that the Brooklyn Nets home, the Barclays Centre, will be host to the 2013 NBA Draft, which will take place on 27th June.
In a press release from the NBA, Commissioner David Stern has said; “We are excited to be holding the NBA Draft in Brooklyn, a borough long associated with great basketball talent… In addition to being a state-of-the-art arena, Barclays Center has quickly become a go-to destination for world class events. We are confident Barclays Center is an ideal venue for introducing the next generation of NBA stars to a global audience."
The past two NBA drafts have been held in Newark, in New Jersey, Before that, it was held in New York from 2001, until 2010.
The NBA Draft has been a public event since 1979, and it continues to receive a lot of hype, making it one of the big calendar events for any basketball fan.
