Celtics Game Cancelled and Players React to Boston Marathon Bombing April 16, 2013 11:10

The Boston Celtics were due to take on the Indiana Pacers at home tonight, but the game has been cancelled due to the bombings at the Boston Marathon yesterday.

I think we're all still in shock this morning, after hearing that 2 bombs were detonated at the finish line of the Boston Marathon yesterday, killing at least 2 people and leaving dozens more seriously injured.

As sports fans, it's hard to come to terms with something like a marathon being hit but such a horrendous crime. Crowds of spectators, press and cameramen were gathered at the finish line to document a feat of human endurance and achievement, only to then capture such devastating pictures as we saw splashed across the news last night.

The winners of the marathon were long gone by the times the bombs went off, and the runners crossing the line at the time were fun runners. People who had turned out to test themselves, and have a good time.

The game between the Celtics and the Pacers will not be rescheduled as both teams are in the playoffs, and they are locked into position already in terms of their seeding in the Eastern Conference.

NBA players took to Twitter to convey their thoughts on the bombing, sharing our sentiments exactly.
