Eric Spoelstra is Coach for Eastern Conference All-Stars February 04, 2013 09:50

The Miami Heat's Eric Spoelstra has been selected as Head Coach for the Eastern Conference All-Star team. Spoelstra being added to the team, makes the East pretty Heat heavy, with LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh already part of the line up.

The coaches for the All-Star game are selected, based on which teams have the best record of the season so far.

The Heat took the best record in the Eastern Conference when they beat the Toronto Raptors 100-85 at the weekend. They're now 30-14.

Spoelstra has been the head coach for Miami for 5 seasons, and in that time he's guided the Heat to row division titles, two conference championships, and the 2012 NBA championship.

Chicago Bull's Tom Thibodeau, and Oklahoma City Thunder's Scott Brooks were the coaches for the 2012 All-Star game, so they were ineligible for this year's game.

Gregg Popovich will be the coach for the Western Conference All-Star Team. The All-Star game will take place at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on Sunday 17th February.
