ESPN To Showcase Martin Luther King Day NBA Games January 21, 2013 11:46

Today, the United States celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day. As a US federal holiday, it also means that the NBA can crack some games on earlier in the day so that we, in the UK, have a chance as glimpsing some NBA action while we can still keep our eyes open.

It also helps that ESPN have a tradition of showing the MLK Day NBA games, and today will be no different!

There is a triple header of NBA games on ESPn today, starting at 6pm GMT with the match up between the Memphis Grizzlies and the Indiana Pacers. That is followed at 8:30pm by the Brooklyn Nets taking on the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden in the showdown of the boroughs.

The triple-bill ends with the Chicago Bulls against the LA Lakers at 2:30am.

Martin Luther Kind Jr. Day marks the birthday of the iconic African-American Civil Rights Activist, and it celebrated on the 3rd Monday of January, close to the 15th, which is his actual birthday.
