Miami Heat Sign Chris 'Birdman' Anderson to a 10-Day Contract January 20, 2013 18:26
I was wondering what had happened to Chris 'The Birdman' Anderson. Last thing we heard, he was waived by the Denver Nuggets in July last year, via the amnesty cause in his contract. That was right after he was part of an investigation into internet child porn.
He wasn't charged with anything, but still, he's been more or less off the radar ever since. That is, until news arrived today that the Miami Heat have decided to sign The Birdman to a 10 day contract.
Anderson has averaged 5.4 points and 5.2 rebounds during his career in the NBA, and we last saw him on the floor with Denver on March 25th last year. The Miami Heat could do with a big guy to crash the boards for them, which is why they've also brought in Jarvis Varnado on another 10-day contract.
The Miami are taking on the Toronto Raptors and the Detroit Pistons at home, before going on the road to face the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden, and the Brooklyn Nets at the Barclays Centre in the next 10 days. It'll be good to see what sort of added chemistry Anderson can bring to the team.
