James Harden Traded to the Houston Rockets October 28, 2012 09:04

The Oklahoma City Thunder last night traded reigning NBA Sixth Man of the Year, James Harden, to the Houston Rockets as part of a multi player trade.

The Thunder couldn't agree to a contract extension with Harden, after he reportedly rejected a four year $53-$54 million contract, to stay in Oklahoma. Last years Western Conference Champions couldn't give Harden a better contract, after already giving out big contracts to other members of the Thunder.

The Thunder had no choice but to trade Harden away, in what has turned out to be a multi player deal with the Houston Rockets. The Thunder also sent Cole Aldrich, Daequan Cook and Lazar Hayward to the Rockets. In return Houston sent Kevin Martin, Jeremy Lamb and three draft picks (two first picks and one second) in the 2013 NBA Draft.
