Dwight Howard Becomes an LA Laker August 10, 2012 13:15

After what feels like an eternity of 'Dwight Drama', news has finally landed that Dwight Howard will be leaving the Magic (as expected) and heading to the LA Lakers.

The deal to acquire Howard from the Orlando Magic is a four-team, eight-player trade that also brings the Denver Nuggets and Philadelphia 76ers into the mix. A conference has been scheduled today for the four general managers to finish the deal, despite the trade having been confirmed by NBA executives.

In the trade, Andrew Bynum will be moving from the Lakers to Philadelphia, along with Jason Richardson from Orlando, and Andre Iguodala will be making a move from Philly to Denver.

Orlando will get Arron Afflalo and Al Harrington from Denver, along with Nikola Vucevic and Moe Harkless from the 76ers, and a lottery protected first-round pick from each of the three teams. Howard had been looking for a trade to Brooklyn, but in failing to come to any sort of deal, the Lakers swooped in to land their second huge trade of the off-season.

The other was Steve Nash who made his way from Phoenix to the Lakers earlier this summer. With Kobe Bryant, Pau Gasol, Steve Nash and now Dwight Howard, the LA Lakers are looking set to have one hell of a line up for the new NBA season.
