Team USA Beat Argentina in London 2012 Warm-Up July 23, 2012 09:16

In the warm-up games for the London 2012 Olympics, the NBA-star-packed Team USA has been looking more and more impressive. Last night, they took on Argentina, wearing 1992 Dream Team throwback jersey's to pay homage to the legendary American team that took Barcelona by storm in 1992.

Argentina really pushed Team USA, but the reigning Olympic champions were able to put up enough fight to win the game 86 - 80, with some serious help from the NBA Scoring Champ, Kevin Durant. He was an impressive 7 of 11 from the 3 point line, and had 27 points in the game.

The USA got off to a quick start in the game, as Durant dropped back to back three pointers and Kobe Bryant put his first points on the board, leading Argentina 8-0. Argentina had their runs though, just before the half they went on a 10 - 0 point run, and at the end of the third they went on a 12 - 3 run to bring the score back to 72-61 to USA going into the fourth.

Then in the fourth, NBA star Manu Ginobili scored 8 points for Argentina in an 11 - 0 run that brought the South American's back within 4 points of the USA with 2:50 left on the game clock. Both Durant and point guard Chris Paul picked up their game at that point, each hitting 3's to put the US comfortably ahead for the remaining minutes.

As well as Durant's 27 points, Kobe Bryant had 18 points, LeBron James added 15 points and Westbrook threw up 13.

For Argentina, Ginobili had 23 points, Carlos Delfino had 15 and Luis Scola finished with 14.

Team USA will finish off their warm-up games this Tuesday against perhaps their biggest Olympic rivals, Spain.

Only 4 days to go until London 2012 gets officially underway!
