Eagles Win To Reach BBL Playoff Final May 07, 2012 21:46

The Newcastle Eagles LogoThe Newcastle Eagles pulled off an amazing 79-64 win against the Cheshire Jets yesterday, in the second leg of the playoff semi-finals, giving them a five point aggregate win over the two legs.

The Eagles came into the second leg needing to win by more than 10 points in order to advance to the final, after losing the first leg 99-89.

Having had an amazing season already, the Eagles now have a chance to make it the perfect season, by winning their fourth trophy. The Eagles haven't had a clean sweep in the BBL since the 2005-06 season.

The Eagles now advance to the BBL Playoff Final, which will be held at the NIA in Birmingham, on 12th May. They will face the Leicester Riders, who beat the Glasgow Rocks in the other playoff semi-final battle.

The Riders are led by Great Britain captain, Andrew Sullivan, and in their current form will be formidable opponents for the Eagles this coming weekend.
