After the New York Knicks' 104-94 loss to the Miami Heat last night, Knicks forward, Amar'e Stoudemire, took his frustration out on a fire extinguisher case, smashing the glass and injuring his left hand as a consequence.
The Knicks are now 2-0 down in the first round of the playoffs against the Heat. Amar'e left the American Airlines Arena with his left hand heavily bandaged, and with his arm in a sling.
It's thought that Stoudemire needed stitches to close the gash on his hand. His status for the Knicks' next game on Thursday is now uncertain, and the injury has the potential to end his postseason with the Knicks.
Stoudemire tweeted late last night that, “I am so mad at myself right now...I want to apologize to the fans and my team, not proud of my actions, headed home for a new start."
