Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Paul Pierce of the Boston Celtics have been chosen as the NBA's players of the month, for games played in March.

In the East, Pierce led the Celtics to a commanding 12-5 month, while averaging 22.3 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists. In a game against the Charlotte Bobcats on 26th March, Pierce tallied a season high 36 points on 10 of 20 shooting to go with 10 rebounds and 3 blocks. During March, Pierce played his 1000th game as a Celtic, when he played against Portland on 9th March.

In the West, MVP candidate Kevin Durant, led the Thunder to a solid 11-5 month. He recorded an average of 27.6 points (which ranked second in the league) to go with a strong 8.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists for the month. In a 149-140 double overtime win against the Timberwolves on 23 March, Durant scored 40 points (on 15 of 26 shooting) and grabbed a season high 17 rebounds.
