The NBA yesterday selected Joe Johnson of the Atlanta Hawks, and Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder, as it's players of the week, for games played from Monday 19th March to Sunday 25th March.
In the West, Durant helped the Thunder to a 3-1 week while averaging 29.5 points, 10.3 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game. Durant is a former two time scoring champion, who this season lies second in the league in scoring with 27.9 points, behind Kobe who leads the league with 28.3 points.
Durant led by example in the game against the Miami Heat last week, scoring a massive 40 points and grabbing a season high 17 rebounds in the 103-87 win.
In the East, Johnson led the Hawks to a 4-1 week while averaging 23.2 points, 5.4 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. He nailed game tying 3 pointers in the game against Cleveland last Wednesday. He also hit the game winning 3 pointer against Washington last Saturday.
Johnson was also involved in a 139-133 quadruple overtime victory against the Utah Jazz on Sunday, he finished the game with 37 points and 8 rebounds.
