Jeremy Evans to Replace Iman Shumpert in NBA All-Star Dunk Contest February 22, 2012 19:00
Just when we thought that the line-ups were set for the NBA All-Star Weekend, there comes a series of injurys in consequent replacements.
The first news of an All-Star weekend change sees the Utah Jazz's Jeremy Evans taking the place of New York Knicks' Iman Shumpert in the Sprite Slam Dunk contest.
Shumpert, who has been struggling with tendinitis in his left knee, battled through the Knicks win over Dallas Mavericks last weekend, but sat out of their loss against the New Jersey Nets on Monday night. With the knee giving Shumpert enough trouble to be riding the bench, the decision has been made for him to bow out of the All-Star Weekend Dunk contest.
Jeremy Evans will take Shumpert's place at the Amway Center in Orlando this Saturday. The Dunk contest will be part of a fantastic line-up of events this weekend as part of the 2012 NBA All-Star competition. There will also be the Rising Stars Challenge, the Celebrity All-Star Game, a Three-Point contest and a Skills Challenge.
Tune in over the weekend (25th - 26th February) to catch all of the 2012 All-Star action.
