K-Mart Signs One Year Deal with the Clippers February 06, 2012 12:33

The Los Angeles Clippers have signed free agent forward, Kenyon Martin, to one year, $2.5 million contract.

K-Mart, as he is known in the NBA, will join a front-court featuring NBA superstar Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan.

The former overall No. 1 pick in the 2000 NBA Draft, recently received permission from FIBA to play in the NBA, after difficulties with being released from his contract with Xinjiang Guanghui Flying Tigers in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA).

The CBA are appealing FIBA's decision for Martin to play in the NBA, so it's unlikely he will make his debut with the Clippers anytime in the next couple of weeks.

Martin averaged only 14 points and 7 rebounds for the Flying Tigers, in a poor quality league with few quality players.

He has an NBA career average of 13.5 points and 7.2 rebounds, in 654 games with the New Jersey Nets and the Denver Nuggets.
