Luol Deng Could Miss the London 2012 Olympics January 25, 2012 17:37
The injury suffered by Great Britain and Chicago Bulls star, Luol Deng, last Saturday has the potential to wreck Great Britain's chances at the London 2012 Olympics.
Deng tore a ligament in his left wrist on Saturday, in the game against the Charlotte Bobcats.
“I know it’s a bad injury and it sounds terrible, but really, I think it will fine,” Deng said yesterday.
After consulting with doctors, Deng has decided to delay surgery on his non-shooting hand, saying “I feel like without the surgery, I’ll be fine.”
He also believes that the Bulls “have a very good chance of doing something special” (this season) . But if Deng returns to the Bulls and the injury flares up and requires an operation, then he could jeopardise his chances of competing for Great Britain in the London 2012 Olympics this summer.
The 6'9'' forward is currently averaging 15.9 points and 7.5 rebounds for the Bulls, who still have the best record in the NBA, at 16-3.
