Paul Traded to the Clippers December 15, 2011 19:19

The New Orleans Hornets last  night traded Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers in return for Eric Gordon, Chris Kamen, Al-Farouq Aminu and a future first round draft pick.

The confirmation of the trade, last night, ended what had been a lengthy negotiating period between the Hornets and a range of other NBA teams, including the LA Lakers.

Paul, 26, is a four time All-Star who averaged 18.7 points and 9.8 assists in his sixth season in New Orleans.

LA Clippers VP, Neil Olshey, was quoted as saying, “We decided for a player of Chris’ caliber that it was just time to make the move and push all our chips into the center of the table.”

“We’re really happy about it. Chris is the kind of player that makes everybody around him better. He’s a general. He wins. He’s a warrior, and he’s going to take this whole organization to the next level.”

The trade will mean that Paul will be teaming up with fellow NBA superstar Blake Griffin in Hollywood for the up-coming season, which tips-off on Christmas Day. I wonder how many alley-oop passes we'll see between Paul and Griffin next year?

On hearing news of the trade, it's understood that Griffin was caught on camera chest bumping team-mate DeAndre Jordan and yelling "Lob City!"
